Leadership in the community 3

Today (Wednesday) I attended Student Council. At Student Council today we talked about our recent meeting where we discussed having a mufti day standing up to bullying. That day was last Friday and the mufti day was called Pink Shirt Day. You needed to wear something pink to stand up to bullying as well as bringing a gold coin. This meeting today was a time to reflect on the mufti day ; how it we, how much we raised. Today at Student Council I showed the CARE values because I contributed to a group discussion and I attend regularly.

Key Leadership 3

Today I went to the Library to do my duty. When I was the Library today I showed the leadership trait of being trustworthy. For my role as a Librarian I show the CARE values by attending regularly. Today in the Library we got some new books . And I got out a book called the 1 and only Ivan. It is a senior fiction book. I recommend reading this book if you are Year 7/8.

In this unit learnt… about adverbial clauses , connectives and conjunctions.

A connective is… a word that connects a sentence. These can be words like and , but , or and because.

An adverbial clause is… A word that describe the time something happened. These can be words like : before , after and yesterday.

Over 2 weeks I have done 10 jobs around my household without being asked . Here are my 10 things.

Leadership in the community 2

Tonight the whole school is going to  our school production. We have been learning two dance over the last two weeks. Each morning the Year 7/8 Hub goes to the school to practice and learn more steps to the dances. Overall I have enjoyed dance.  I showed the CARE Values by Aiming for Excellence in learning and I showed the Leadership traits by showing Resilient when I couldn't do it.

Key Leadership 2

Today I went to the Library and did my job as a Librarian. I put books away , returned , renewed and issued books. The Library is at the back of school in the old room 13. I showed CARE values by : using manners , showing leadership and contributing to the wider school. I look forward to my duty next week.
I showed Active thinking by when someone needed help .

Leadership in the Community

Today I am going to Student Council. Student Council is 2 people from each class in the Kauri team that go and talk about things happening in the school . I look forward to going to Student Council , because it is my first year doing it. Im going to show the CARE values by Contributing to the discussion.

Key Leadership Excellence 1

This Tuesday the Library was not open because Mrs Ward was on a course.
I showed the CARE values by contributing to the school by picking up rubbish.
I showed Resilience because when the Library was closed I still contributed to the school by picking up rubbish.

My favourite book of Term 1

This is a story about a boy called Jonas and his family , they live in a town where no Air Crafts are allowed to fly over. But one day an aircraft flew over twice within an hour. 
Jonas's father is a Nurturer at the new child center. Where all the babies go when they are born. At the school the years are depending on the age. When you get to the Eights you get a job to do in the community . Jonas is now in the Elevens and his Sister Larissa is in the Sevens. Then Jonas reveals something...
